ABOUT OUR CLUB

Our Projects

As leaders in Houston, we understand the importance of supporting your community by giving back to help maintain a safe, healthy, and thriving neighborhood.
The Rotary Club of Harrisburg has been helping the East End of Houston for over eighty years by implementing programs to make a difference in our community.
From our involvement with the first baseball field at the local YMCA many years ago to our numerous youth programs we support today, we strive to give back to our community.
Here are just a few of the programs that Harrisburg Rotary supports throughout the East End neighborhood:

Polio Plus

A Rotary International project to eradicate Polio worldwide with a cumulative total of over $2.6 Billion in contributions since 1985. Our District has given $4,244,336 to this project. There were 14 cases of Polio in the world in 2022 located in Afghanistan and Pakistan only. In 1988 there were 350,000 cases globally

Scholarships

Providing financial help to local high school students who have worked diligently but may need financial help to attend college. In the last 30 years, our club has given $840,000 in scholarships to local high school students at Milby, Austin and Chavez High schools.

RYLA

Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly, a weekend retreat for East End high school students to learn leadership skills.

Interact

Bicycle Program

Early Act First Knight

Our newest program for our Rotary. We sponsor Crespo, Sanchez and St. Christophers Elementary Schools with an intensive character-based education program.

Rotary Fire Fighters Home
